Salvador (Brazil), Jun 18 (EFE).- Diego Forlán spoke about the Thaiti national side in an interview with EFE, claiming that they was going through similar phases as Venezuela, a once weak team that now has a chance to qualify for their first ever World Cup. Both Uruguay and Tahiti are in group B, accompanied by Spain and Nigeria, in the Confederations Cup. The Uruguayan striker stated that Tahiti deserved to be in the competition, as they were the champions of their area, but noted that there were big differences with other team partaking in the tournament.

Forlán also commented on the game they played against Spain in which Uruguay lost 2-1 and the striker only had a chance to play during the second half. He claimed that the Spaniards had been superior and that they had to move on and focus on their upcoming game against Nigeria.
