Silent protests in Istanbul, Ankara

A loud speaker announces a mandatory evacuation in the Turkish capital Ankara early Tuesday as anti-government protesters clash with riot police.

It's been a similar scene for the past 15 days ... police using water cannons and tear gas to disperse crowds who fire back with rocks.

Demonstrations over plans to develop a city park in Istanbul have spread across the country with four related deaths and nearly 5,000 injuries.

But Tuesday night in Istanbul, a different kind of demonstration.

One man began standing, in silent protest, in front of the city's cultural center. Slowly, the group grew in size. Police then moved in , escorting the silent demonstrators into a nearby van.

A similar demonstration took place in Ankara near the spot where a 26 year old protester was killed on June 1st.
