North, South Korea move to repair ties

Hostility between North and South has been growing in recent months, but on Thursday there were signs that the neighbours could return to talks.
The president called on Pyongyang to stop making threats and begin reconciliation.

"North Korea must give up its policies that are fuelling its isolation and backwardness and bravely accept the hand of reconciliation being offered by South Korea and the global community and strive for mutual prosperity"
The North on Thursday proposed official talks with South Korea in a state TV broadcast.
The North said it sought to normalize commercial projects with the South, including the Kaesong industrial zone, shut down at the height of tensions between the rivals in early April.
