Sexy Lucy is the only Colombian band that had a gig at New York's legendary venue CBGB's OMFUG, while promoting their debut album Not For You which is probably the most talked about Colombian independent electronic production outside their country. After its release date, various songs from this album appeared in several compilations next to Interpol, Client and Zoé, which opened several opportunities for Sexy Lucy to remix international artists. Both Andy Fletcher from Depeche Mode and Peter Hook from New Order gave Sexy Lucy's remix for Client great reviews. Afterwards a remix that they made for Zoe's song "Dead", became a platinum album short after being released in Mexico. Sexy Lucy's impact on the Mexican underground electro scene led the famous tequila Jose Cuervo to use their song "5th Avenue" as the sound track for the Jose Cuervo Tequila Azul campaign.
Over the last few years Sexy Lucy has maintained its dark essence, using powerful lyrics and music to complement its strong dance floor rhythms. Lately the group has also worked with Who da Funk, star of the underground house scene, under the monicker Bloody Marys, releasing tracks on the Lectro Chik label. After four years of hard work on their new album DYNAMITE, Sexy Lucy has begun a new series of live performances which stand out due to the group's electric spirit, strong dance vibes and a powerful dose of sexy glamour.
