Four firefighters have died in a hotel blaze in the U.S. city of Houston.

Emergency services rushed to put out the fire at the hotel and restaurant in a southwestern area of the city.

But as firefighters searched for people feared to be trapped inside, the roof gave way.

Officials say three men and a woman were killed.

Another five were injured, one critically.

Terry Garrison of Houston's fire department said they were working in teams when the roof collapsed.
