Apple’s CEO knew exactly what to say to American senators, clearly besotted by the company. This explains the far from hostile reception Tim Cook received when appearing before the Senate’s Permanent Committee on investigations this past week. Cook appeared before the committee after a report, that some would term ‘damaging’ was released this week by Congressional investigators. The report uncovered how Apple uses a large web of subsidiaries to limit its taxes paid in the United States. At the Senate hearing lawmakers said the maker of Iphones, Ipads, iPods and Mac computers kept billions of dollars in profits in Irish subsidiaries to avoid U.S. taxes.
