Sacha MARTINS was born in Paris in 1975. With a formal training as an engineer and mathematician, he has a degree in electronics from the Engineering College of Paris [E.S.I.E.E PARIS] and a post-graduate diploma in micro-system architecture. His voracious passion for the vitality of contemporary literature, rapidly leads him to write novels and plays, and then to explore resources of cinema and digital photo manipulations. His career path is dominated by curiosity as much as heterogeneousness, starting with mathematics and then heading towards Literature, Art and Poetry.

Mainly working on the basis of images inlaying inside richly coloured conglomerations, the graphic material of Sacha's movies is shaped through the use of metamorphosis and superimposition. Sacha's works deal with the implied dialectics of confinement and alienation through an abundance of textures and colours which imprison and release through an incessant journey between distance and proximity, between the familiar and the exotic, between the interior and the exterior. Sacha's formal explorations are based on all kind of materials, from vintage wall-papers to stamps networks and use the operational resources of mathematics to thwart carefully concerted decisions and make intangible outlines to magically emerge from the chaos of superimposed elements. As if reality was just a collection of unconnected feelings, his works tries to put together "the dislocated pieces of that huge puzzle" and to merged those time-fragmented impressions into the same perceptive conglomeration. The shapes appearing on the surface of each of his pictures and movies inexplicably, inexorably and inextricably become entangled as a watermark, sparsely erasing the outlines of the three plans giving structure to our mediation to the world, according to the Lacanian Psychoanalysis, Reality, Imaginary and Symbolism.
