French prosecutors during a Tuesday press conference confirmed that 23 people have been detained in relation to the double murder of Monaco heiress Helene Pastor and her driver. Among the suspects being held and questioned are two men suspected of carrying out the attack, as well as the deceased billionaire's daughter and son-in-law. Sylvia Pastor, 53, and her husband Wojciech Janowski, 65, reportedly may be the masterminds behind the murder of Monaco's "vice-princess".

Helene Pastor, 77, had just finished visiting her son in a hospital in Nice, France, on May 6 when a gunman fired into the passenger side of her vehicle. Her son, 47-year-old Gildo Pallanca Pastor, was hospitalized after suffering a stroke.

Pastor died 15 days later succumbing to several dozen wounds to the face and chest.

Pastor is reportedly one of Europe's richest woman, controlling an estimated wealth of 19 billion Euros. Her family owns a massive number of prime properties and has enjoyed close ties with Monaco's royal family since her father Gildo's time. Gildo Senior grew his fortune rapidly in the 60's after the granted royal family granted him permission to build high-rise buildings on the seafront.
