00:03So I'm going to say this once. This projector is so freaking awesome. Every time I put on a
00:10movie to test its picture quality I find myself watching way more than I'm supposed to. Its
00:16display quality and sound is so darn good. This is what we are talking about. So this is the
00:22Vankyo V700G Pro. And before you shrug your shoulders just know that I'm not easily impressed
00:30when it comes to projectors. But from the minute I press the power button on this one I knew this
00:35was
00:35something special. So what we're looking at. We got Google TV OS, Dolby surround, Netflix ESN,
00:44WiFi 6, Bluetooth, 3-way speakers, automated keys tone and focus, and a pretty darn good picture
00:51quality with bright lumens. So special thanks to Vankyo for sponsoring today's video.
00:56They took me by surprise with this model. And without further ado, let's get into it.
01:09So this model has a native resolution of 1920 by 1080p. A brightness of 2500 ANSI lumens.
01:18It has HDR10 and 4K media support. It has a max viewing distance of 19 feet 200 inches and a
01:26minimum
01:27of 5.6 feet 60 inches. It has aspect ratio of 4 by 3 and 16 by 9. It supports
01:35front mounting and ceiling
01:37mounting. It provides auto and manual focus and keystone correction and obstacle avoidance.
01:43It has WiFi 6 dual band and Bluetooth 5.2. It has three built-in speakers with Dolby audio subwoofers.
01:51And it uses a standard conventional internal cooling fan.
01:55So after the unboxing in this purchase you get the V700G Pro model itself. As you can see it's a
02:03full
02:03size model and it has an average shipping weight of around 12 pounds. You get one Bluetooth voice remote
02:10with Google assistance feature. A 35V 4 amp DC power supply. A three pin AC power cable for the power
02:19supply. A lens cleaning kit. A 100 inch fabric projector screen. A pack of adhesive hooks for the screen.
02:29A user manual and a quick start guide.
02:34Let's have a look at its dimensions and its external features. It comes in at 12 inches wide,
02:40by nine and a quarter inches long, by four and a quarter inches tall. Its body is made entirely of
02:46plastic. And at the front it comes with a front facing auto focus and auto keystone correction camera,
02:52and IR sensor. Along with its three inch glass coated projector lens. For storage and portability,
02:59the lens is protected by a hard plastic cover. For IO all ports are located at the back.
03:05These include one HDMI input port, one USB 2.0 port, a headphone jack, a rear facing IR sensor,
03:14and its 35V DC input socket. On the left side it comes with an intake vent with a removable dust
03:22filter.
03:23And to the right is where you'll find its exhaust vent and one mid-range tweeter speaker.
03:29At the top you have LED backlit touch button controls.
03:33And to its base has four anti-scale rubber feet that you can remove the gain access to the ceiling
03:40mounting screw holes. It has a screw type kickstand, and a pair of 8W subwoofer speakers.
03:47So right away we can see that it does not have HDMI ARC, it does not have liquid cooling,
03:53and it has three speakers instead of two as shown in the manual.
03:59So I'm not wasting any time here. I've already set up on a projector stand, paired the Bluetooth remote,
04:06and a login to my prime video on Google account on this Google TV OS operating system.
04:11I'm using an ALR projector screen, and each time you start up you get auto focus and auto keystone
04:17calibration. So before I get into any firmware features or hardware specs, let's first look at
04:24the quality of the display and the sharpness of its edges.
04:53So as you can see there is no blurring to one side or to the outer reach
04:58dimensions of the display. You have sharp edges and very bright lumens.
05:07So this is official Google TV OS. I will do a quick browse through of its settings area,
05:14and then we'll have a look using the TV box specs app. So in the settings area under projector,
05:21you will find its autofocus and manual focus adjustments,
05:25as well as you can enable or disable autofocus on startup and autofocus when moving.
05:32Under image correction, you can access and trigger its auto keystone correction.
05:37You can adjust its four point corner keystone correction.
05:41You can use its auto fit to screen feature provided you have a display
05:46with the defined borders for it to detect. You can use its 50% plus or minus digital zoom.
05:54And under advance, you can enable or disable auto keystone on startup and auto keystone on movement,
06:01avoid obstacles and auto fit to screen.
06:04If you would like to use its awesome built in speakers with your mobile phone,
06:09you simply click this feature and pair your phone to it.
06:13Bluetooth speaker mode is ready. Please use your phone to connect.
06:25Bluetooth speaker mode turned off.
06:34And under advanced projector settings, you can access its projection direction.
06:40You have information about the status of the Bluetooth remote,
06:44and the product model name.
06:47Under display and sound, you can adjust your picture brightness.
06:55You have your picture color settings where you can select from color presets,
07:04or you can adjust your own custom levels.
07:12Under sound, you can select from a list of sound presets.
07:17You can enable or disable surround sound audio.
07:21You can disable system sounds.
07:23And you have some expert settings for dialogue enhancer and auto volume control.
07:30Under audio output, you can select your digital output preference.
07:35I recommend you leave it to auto.
07:37And there's a digital output that I don't think applies to this projector.
07:42The rest of the settings area is your standard Android network settings.
07:49Your account and profile settings.
07:52Privacy settings.
07:54Your apps section.
07:57Accessibility.
07:58Bluetooth settings.
08:00And help and feedback.
08:03Under system.
08:04Under the about section.
08:06Here you see that it's running on Android 11 tvOS.
08:10It has a Netflix ESN.
08:13And access to developer options.
08:18Let's now have a look at its hardware information.
08:21For this I'm using my custom built TV box specs hardware detection app.
08:26That finds and detects hidden features on Android boxes and other Android devices.
08:32This app is not available on the Google Play Store.
08:35And to get your free download use the link provided in the description below.
08:40If I head over to the summary page.
08:43Here it shows that the manufacturer is SDMC.
08:47And the model is the V720P.
08:51Its operating system is Android 11 Google tvOS.
08:54The firmware is not rooted.
08:57It comes with Google wide vine level one.
09:00It has a Netflix ESN.
09:02And it does not need HDCP protection because it does not have an HDMI output.
09:09The main board is the Mediatek M7332 chipset.
09:13Its CPU is the Mediatek M7332.
09:16A quad core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz configured in 32-bit mode.
09:25It comes with 2GB of DDR4 RAM.
09:28And 8GB of internal storage.
09:31As you can see the RAM integrity checker is not fully accessible.
09:36So the RAM information may be inaccurate.
09:39Its GPU is detected as the Mali G52 with opened GLES version 3.2.
09:46With Vulkan support API version 1.1.
09:50Here it shows that its wireless network adapter is detected as Wi-Fi 5AC 2.4 plus 5GHz.
09:58And not a Wi-Fi 6 wireless network adapter.
10:01And its Bluetooth version cannot be detected.
10:05For video decoders, it supports HDR10, HLG, AV1.
10:10And it does not support HDR10+, Dolby Vision, AISR, or AIPQ.
10:17For audio, it supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital+, DTS-VirtualX, and DTS-HD Master Audio.
10:25It does not support Dolby 2HD and DTS-X.
10:29They blocked the temperature sensor.
10:31So you cannot get a reading.
10:33Which means be very mindful of how long you run this projector,
10:37on which brightness settings, or the environment in which you operate it.
10:41Because overheating damages electronics.
10:44Even though it has an internal cooling fan,
10:46you should always be cognizant of the threat of overheating.
10:53So onto its movie, YouTube, and self-hosted video streaming capabilities.
10:58We already established that it's a Google certified model,
11:02with Google Widevine level 1, and it has a Netflix ESN.
11:07So this means you can use any one of your popular services,
11:11such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Max, Apple TV, and many others.
11:16And stream content in up to HD 1080p resolution.
11:20This is a 1080p projector, so the maximum resolution you can access will be HD.
11:26Here is my prime video account, and it shows here that you have HD 1080p with Dolby Atmos.
11:33For watching YouTube videos, you get up to HD 1080p with HDR.
11:38It also shows here that the interface has an HDR OSD,
11:43that pops up as confirmation when HDR content is being played.
12:21For playing self-hosted videos, as advertised that it can play 4K videos is incorrect.
12:28I tested various 4K HDR10 formats and it could not process any.
12:34Only HDR10 1080p videos can play.
13:24It's Google TV OS, so you get a Google Assistant,
13:27with voice search and voice commands.
13:31Play the working man on prime video.
13:36Got it, here is a working man on prime video.
13:59If you are into gaming, you can connect your Bluetooth gamepad directly to this projector,
14:05and play some Android games from the Google TV play store.
14:08Though I don't recommend that you game directly on this projector.
14:12Instead you should connect an external gaming console via its HDMI input.
14:22So this is a game on the Steam platform called Raceroom Experience.
14:55One thing you should know about installing APKs on this projector.
15:00You cannot install APKs from external storage.
15:03You have to copy the APK to its download folder on the internal storage,
15:08and install it from there.
15:10Any attempts to install from external storage will be blocked.
15:31So for fan noise, you have an average of around 35 decibels on standard brightness,
15:38and around 45 on high brightness.
15:42In summary, to capture the image in this video I had to lower the exposure settings on my camera
15:49very low because the lumens were so bright that everything just looked like a big white blur to
15:55the camera.
15:56And with your naked eyes, you would really be impressed by the quality of its display.
16:00During this video I did not see the need to connect the projector to my surround sound audio system,
16:06because its 3-way speaker system is really loud with deep bass and provides enough surround sound effects.
16:13I really enjoy its sharp edges, its vivid color gamut, and its full Google TV OS operating system.
16:19What I don't like is the marketing pitch where they claim that it has 4K compatibility,
16:25which obviously it does not for my testing.
16:28The TV box specs apps identified that it has Wi-Fi 5AC and not Wi-Fi 6AX wireless network adapter.
16:37I know it's no fault of Vankyo, but having to download your APKs onto its internal storage to
16:43install them is an inconvenience, but that is a requirement to get your projector Google certified
16:49by Google.
16:50Other than that, this projector is pretty awesome.
16:53With certification to watch Netflix and all other paid subscription movie services in HD
16:58without having to connect an Android box or a dongle.
17:01And having a Bluetooth remote with Google assistant is something most projector users
17:06can tell you is very satisfying instead of having to use infrared.
17:12So when I review a projector that displays this good, I have to call it out.
17:17I have not seen a model display this good since the Nexigo PJ20 of 2021 and the PJ40 of 2023.
17:25With so many features and quality display, this projector cannot be classified as a budget model.
17:32This is a premium full size projector and it's well built.
17:35So if you are interested, it's available at two locations. You can get it directly from their website,
17:41and it's also been sold at Walmart.
17:44So if you are interested, I place both links in the description below.
17:48Also, if you are interested in the model featured in this video,
17:51you can get it at a second hand price on my online store.
17:54So see that link in the description also.
