You wouldn't read my letter if I wrote you You asked me not to call you on the phone But there's something I'm wanting to tell you So I wrote it in the words of this song I didn't know God made honky tonk angels I might have known you'd never make a wife You gave up the only one that ever loved you And went back to the wild side of Life The glamor of the gay night Life has lured you To the places where the wine and liquor flows Where you wait to be anybody's baby And forget the truest love you'll ever know
Well I love you baby, but you won't give me the time of dayWell I love you baby, but you won't give me the time of dayTreat me so bad, but I love you anywayEarly in the morning, sun begins to riseEarly in the morning, sun begins to riseCall out your name, wring my hands and cryYou got me runnin', don't know what to doThere won't be much of me when you get throughDown on the bottom, nothing left to loseLord I 'n got 'em, mean woman bluesWell I love you baby, but you don't even know my nameWell I love you baby, but you don't even know my nameDon't care about me but I'll love you just the sameNow someday baby, take you by the handYeah someday baby, take you by the handYou be my lovin' child and I'll be your lovin' manYeah, you got me runnin' ,don't know what to doThere won't be much of me when you get throughDown on the bottom, nothing left to loseLord I 'n got 'em, mean woman blues

My Mama doesn't like it, the way I comb my hair, Papa thinks I'm crazy, in the clothes I wear It's a hit come on records and I play it all day But I'm what I am and I'm gonna keep a rockin' that way. I'm a rockabilly rebel from head to toe I gotta keep a-rockin' everywhere I go Everybody join us, we're good company Be a real cool cat, be a rockabilly rebel like me. The kids in the schoolhouse they couldn't wait too long, When the school is over, they put their cat clothes on, Oughta hear the slap bass swingin' to the band It is a real rockin' rhythm that is sweepin' all over this land I'm a rockabilly rebel from head to toe I gotta keep a-rockin' everywhere I go Everybody join us, we're good company Be a real cool cat, be a rockabilly rebel like me.
Smile though your heart is aching, smile even though it´s breaking, when there are clouds in the sky You´ll get by if you smile through your fear and sorrow, smile and maybe tomorrow you´ll see the sun comes shining through, for you.Light up your face with gladness, hide ev´ry trace of sadnes, although a tear maybe ever so near. That´s the time you must keep on trying, Smile! What´s the use of crying? You´ll find that life is still worth while if you just smile!
In Penny Lane there is a barber showing photographs Of every head he's had the pleasure to have known, And all the people that come and go Stop and say hello. On the corner is a banker with a motorcar, The little children laugh at him behind his back. And the banker never wears a mac In the pouring rain, very strange. Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes. There beneath the blue suburban skies I sit, and meanwhile back In Penny Lane there is a fireman with an hourglass And in his pocket is a portrait of the Queen. He likes to keep his fire engine clean, It's a clean machine. Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes. FULL OF fish and finger pies In summer, meanwhile back Behind the shelter in the middle of the roundabout A pretty nurse is selling poppies from a tray And though she feels as if she's in a play She is anyway. In Penny Lane the barber shaves another customer, We see the banker sitting waiting for a trim. And then the fireman rushes in From the pouring rain, very strange. Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes. There beneath the blue suburban skies I sit, and meanwhile back. Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes. There beneath the blue suburban skies, Penny Lane.
This is my Cover version of 'Dream a Little Dream of Me', which has been one of my favourite songs for a long time. Just a lovely song to sing and play the Guitar to. Not many people know that this song was written way back in the 30's and one recording then was made by Ozzie Nelson..who is the father of 60's idol Ricky Nelson. Of course, Mama Cass did not record this song until the late 60's..and for me her version is just fantastic...Hope you like my attempt at the song.....Thanks....Dave

Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of rock and roll music, and emerged in the early 1950s.The term rockabilly is a portmanteau of rock (from rock 'n' roll) and hillbilly, the latter a reference to the country music (often called hillbilly music in the 1940s and 1950s) that contributed strongly to the style's development. Other important influences on rockabilly include western swing, boogie woogie, and rhythm and blues. While there are notable exceptions, its origins lie primarily in the Southern United States. The influence and popularity of the style waned in the 1960s, but during the late 1970s and early 1980s, rockabilly enjoyed a major revival of popularity that has endured to the present, often within a rockabilly subculture.
You'll hear my voice on the wind, cross the sandIf you should return to that black, barren landThat bears the name of Xanadu.Cursed, without hope, was the love that I sought.Lost from the start was the duel that was foughtTo win a heart in Xanadu. Now no footprints leave their tracesOnly shadows move in placesWhere we used to go.And the buildings open to the skyAll echo with the vultures cryAs if to show: Our love was for a dayAnd doomed to pass awayIn Xanadu, in Xanadu, in Xanadu! In Xanadu, in Xanadu, in Xanadu!
