First pitch from Texas is scheduled for 8PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by MLB Network.

The MLB wagering odds has the home team Texas Rangers favored by -125 odds with the return on the road underdog Detroit Tigers at +115 odds. The run total is set at 10 runs.

The Tigers will throw right hander Rick Porcello on Friday night to make his seventh start of the season. The Detroit hurler is 1-2 with an ERA of 6.68 and WHIP of 1.36. Porcello had one horrible outing this season where he allowed nine earned runs over 2/3rds innings. Since then he has allowed no more than three earned runs per start. Detroit suffers their second straight loss after a 10-4 defeat at Texas on Thursday night as a +105 road underdog with their ace Justin Verlander on the mound. The game finished over 7 ½ runs. Detroit sports the best offense in baseball by averaging 5.38 runs per game and a team batting average of .282.

The Rangers will counter with righty Nicholas Tepesch who starts for the eighth time of the 2013 campaign. Tepesch is 3-3 with an ERA of 4.03 and WHIP of 1.26.

Tepesch has struggled with consistency this year. He is coming off an effort at Houston where he allowed one earned run in six innings against the worst team in baseball. Prior to that The Rangers right hander gave up a combined ten earned runs over 10 2/3rds inning pitched combined against the Cubs and White Sox.

The Rangers are hot right now as they are winners of three straight and seven of their past eight games. In addition to good offensive numbers they rank fifth in all of baseball in team ERA at 3.45 and are third in WHIP at a very good 1.20 as a staff.
