Grand Theft Auto V shoots down E3 2013, Take-Two Games to break into next-generation with “extraordinary pipeline”, and NVIDIA prices Shield and announces pre-order date, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!

Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. Take-Two, parent company of Rockstar Games, has announced the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V will not be present at E3 2013 despite its upcoming September 17th launch. Already possessing the publicity needed for success, Rockstar Games will instead “focus their marketing and PR efforts on a series of events throughout the spring and summer.” With all Grand Theft Auto V announcements taking over the media regardless of timing, the decision to step out of E3 will have absolutely no impact on the publicity for the title and when one has such attention, you can’t really blame them for not wanting to share with the many other announcements set to unleash.

With fiscal 2014 shaping up to be one of the best years for Take-Two Games thanks to the upcoming launch of Grand Theft Auto V, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Games, has discussed his excitement for the next-generation platforms thanks to having a “extraordinary pipeline” and “groundbreaking new intellectual property and releases”. With the only new IP known from Take-Two Games being Agent, which hasn’t seen the light of day for years, it would be nice to see the title reemerge for the PlayStation 4, taking advantage of the powerful hardware that the console provides, but if not, I look forward to seeing whatever else Take-Two has up their sleeves.

Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, NVIDIA has officially announced that their upcoming gaming handheld, NVIDIA Shield will launch during this June with pre-orders open on May 20th. Powered by NVIDIA’s powerful Tegra 4 processor, and sporting a high-resolution 5-inch display, the handheld certainly holds potential regarding its hardware, but ready for the disappointment? The handheld will launch at the price of $349.99. Sure, the handheld will include Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 and Expendable: Rearmed, but with most of the device’s titles being playable on the newer Android phones, I am going to predict NVIDIA’s Shield will be a replay of the good ole’ N-Gage.
