Students Take Tests Wearing Good Luck Charms

Students take tests wearing good luck charms.

For occasions when studying just isn’t enough, one third of students polled said they call upon the aid of their lucky charms.

Underwear is a popular good luck garment as are pants and jewelry. The less fashion-focused seekers of good fortune carry pens and assorted Tchotchkes.

The poll, conducted for Bic pens, revealed some other interesting information about how today’s high school and college students prep for exams.

About half resorted to means beyond their notes and books for a brain boost, saying they upped the quantity of vegetables and oily fish in their diets come test time.

Those who despise test prep so much they’d rather do housework made a strong showing, comprising 21 percent of all participants.

23 percent admitted they wait until the day before the exam to study. The night before exams is, of course, when students experience their darkest moments of despair. The majority reported they stay up late and 40 percent of them don’t sleep at all.

Yet, sleep deprivation has been linked to lower student GPAs as rest is necessary for concentration, memory, and overall learning ability.
