Nicki Minaj flaunts her girly style on the cover of Teen Vogue and dishes on the music industry, social media, and her childhood. Happy Monday my friends, thanks for tuning back into ClevverMusic for all your music news. Nicki will appear on the June/July cover for this popular teen mag and describes her style as "euphoric, girly and powerful" and that it is!! Her cover look is super cute rocking a white lace long sleeve tutu dress while tying in her Nicki style with an embroidered hot pink bodice detailed with beaded bows. In the interview with Teen Vogue Nicki shares, "People treat this business like it's high school. It can absolutely feel like one big popularity contest, and you know what? I can't be bothered. I can't allow myself to play ridiculous games with grown adults in the industry. I can't be nice to someone just because they are hot right now. I can't do it." Two things stood out on this quote: Number 1, isn't it funny how she relates the industry to "high school" when that is the name of her newest single with Lil Wayne?! We thought so. And Number 2 -- does "ridiculous games" refer to her fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey whom she famously does not get along with?

Nicki also shares how she doesn't let negativity on social media bring her down. Nicki tells teens, "If you are having a problem, there's nothing wrong with deleting your social media. If people keep taunting you and you keep reading it, it's poison." Interesting coming from the Queen of Twitter! Nicki also shares intimate details about her childhood and how it made her the strong woman she is today. She tells Teen Vogue that when her parents would fight she would move schools and hated the feeling of making new friends and wondering if she was going to be accepted. Nicki shared, "I let people know I wasn't going to be pushed around." That mentality has definitely stuck with her, there is no denying Ms. Minaj is one tough cookie. Be sure to read the article in full when it hits stands! In other Nicki news, she will be performing with Lil Wayne this weekend, May 19 at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, a performance you won't want to miss! It's your turn- do you think she is being contradicting when discussing the music industry as "high school"? Write your comments below and please subscribe to our channel! Thank you as always for keeping it here on ClevverMusic, I'm Misty Kingma, see you next time!
