Turkish officials say Syria is likely to blame for double car bombings that left at least 43 people dead on Saturday.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister, Bulent Arinc along with other government officials toured the site after the attack.

(SOUNDBITE) (Turkish) TURKISH DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER, BULENT ARINC, SAYING:

"The capability of their (Syrian regime) intelligence and armed organisations lets us call them as the usual suspects for it. But as I said we will have an official explanation after the eyewitness testimonies and assessment of our intelligence reports"

The blasts tore through the crowded streets of a shopping district in Turkey's southern Hatay province - home to thousands of Syrian refugees - and destroyed restaurants, cafes and other buildings up to three blocks away.

There has been no claim of responsibility and no immediate response from Damascus.
