On American Idol's Top 3 performances show Candice Glover steals the show and brings Nicki Minaj to tears! Hey guys thanks so much for tuning in to ClevverMusic, here's a recap of Season 12's Top 3 performances night. As you know, Top 3 week is also hometown week and Angie Miller, Kree Harrison and Candice Glover got to visit their respective hometowns. And it seemed the homecoming visits did the contestants good as each had incredible and refreshing performances. They each had to sing three songs that they themselves did not pick. First they sang a song picked by show mentor Jimmy Iovine, then a song picked by the judges, and then a song picked by the show's producers.

We think the night went to Candice Glover, who first sang U2's "One" picked by Jimmy Iovine, and then Emeli Sande's "Next to Me". While the judges didn't love that song choice, judge Nicki Minaj couldn't hold back tears. Something at that moment struck a chord with her and all she could muster as tears rolled down her cheeks was, "I have to tell you that I'm so proud of you...Congratulations". This sweet moment was the most vulnerable we've seen Nicki on the show thus far. But it was Candice's third and final song of the night that blew everyone away. Check out Candice (in a dress!) performing Westside Story's "Somewhere".

Yeah, what a set of pipes on Candice! No surprise she got a standing ovation from all four judges. On the show Kree Harrison performed Pink's "Perfect" chosen by Jimmy Iovine, followed by Rascall Flatts "Here Comes Goodbye" chosen by the judges and The Band Perry's "Better Dig Two" chosen by the producers. Angie Miller first sang Elton Johns' "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" followed by Pink's "Try" which the judges praised for looking "natural". It was at this moment that Nicki Minaj pointed out her striking similar looks to singer Miley Cyrus, take a look.

The elephant in the room was finally addressed and we think Angie took it well, laughing it off. Now for the moment of truth—WHO should be sent home and who should advance to the big finale next week! Tell me by leaving a comment!
