A while back we found out that Robert Redford would be showing up in the next installment of "Captain America" and Marvel later revealed we'd be seeing him play Agent Alexander Pierce, a leader in S.H.I.E.L.D. But a new interview has really thrown us for a loop, and before we go any further, some spoilers may lie ahead...In an interview with The Straits Times, Redford revealed that he'll be joining the cast of "The Winter Soldier" as a villain. That's right, meaning that Alexander Pierce, the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be a bad guy, saying quote, "I like the idea of playing a villain... I did that just because it's a different thing for me to do." Now, this is the only info we have to confirm, but we know we'll be seeing heightening tensions in S.H.I.E.L.D. and "The Winter Soldier" is being described as a political thriller, so considering it's coming from Redford himself, it doesn't sound too far-fetched. If it's true, he'll be in good company as "The Winter Soldier" is pulling in villains in droves with Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre & Toby Jones all playing villains of various levels as well. But maybe we'll see the character of Alexander Pierce arc in an interesting way that might be further developed in future movies. Perhaps as the man pulling The Winter Soldier's strings? What do you think this means for "The Winter Soldier" and do you think it's true? Or was Robert Redford just teasing us here? As always, share your thoughts below and stay tuned. We'll keep you in the loop. I'm Erin Darling, thanks for tuning in!
