Warner Bros is officially re-adapting the widely popular heroic fantasy game, Dungeons and Dragons. This a total blast from the past for me, because I remember playing Dungeons and Dragons back in the day. There's a lot of potential with this project, and Deadline is reporting that this new movie adaptation might be at the top of Warner Bros priority list, as the studio just acquired the rights to the project and they've hired writer David Leslie Johnson, who also wrote other fantasty style movies like Wrath of the Titans and Red Riding Hood. And Johnson is creating this script based on another script that was actually written by the games designer, Gary Gygax. But this isn't the first time we have seen Hollywood attempt to do this movie. There was a Dungeons and Dragons film released back in 2000 that was produced by Courtney Solomon, and it did horribly at the boxoffice. It had a budget of $45 million but only made $34 million at the box you don't have to be an accountant to know that that wasn't even close to being a success, but Warner is going to give Solomon a second chance to make something magical happen. The Dungeons and Dragons game has actually been around since the 70's and was a table top game where players could create their own characters or heros in this magical, mystacle war game. And all of the players used their imagination to tell the story together. The design of it is very similar to that of Peter Jackson's, The Hobbit. So if it's done well, this could lead to a huge franchising opportunity, complete with merchandise, more videos games, and products, and of course more movies. So, are any of you Dungeons and Dragons fans excited to see a second attempt at this movie? And what parts of the game do you hope make it into the script!? Leave us your feedback on this, and please subscribe to us since youre already here. As always, thank you all so much for watching, and I will see you in the next video!
