A list of Obama's gifts from foreign countries is released.

Being President of The United States is a big responsibility, but there are nice perks as well.

Recently, the U.S. State Department released a long list of extravagant and unique gifts which were given to Barack Obama in 2011 by foreign governments and dignitaries.

Let’s start off with what might be Obama's favorite - a present from Nicolas Sarkozy, the former French president was an Hermes golf bag valued at over $7,000. Sarkozy also gave him a set of small statues, made of crystal showcasing golfer positions on the course.

Not impressed? Well, the Canadian prime minster gifted a basketball, complete with signatures by team members of the Toronto Raptors. Some other gifts included a $1,400 rug, two silver links bracelets , containing the first initials of his daughters’ names, an Australian shirt with the phrase “USA Revolution” printed on the front and a four foot bronze statue of Abe Lincoln.

The National Archives and Records Administration keeps track of all presents in a PDF document.

Each gift must be listed along with a description, the originating country, the value and the reason the president accepted it.
