Washington DC's annual White House Correspondents Dinner was a star studded event Saturday night in the nation's capital.

A short satirical film kicked off the night. Kevin Spacey ended it with a special message to the President.

"Mr. President, welcome to Nerd Prom."

But the annual dinner is actually less 'nerd' than it is 'jock' with only Washington's elite media, politicians and Hollywood stars attending.

As usual, President Obama used the occasion to poke fun at Republicans, and himself.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING:

"I recognize that this job can take a toll on you. I understand second term, need a burst of new energy, try some new things. And my team and I talked about it. We were willing to try anything so we borrowed one of Michelle's tricks."
