Glee's Darren Criss makes an exciting announcement—a summer tour and new album! Hey Gleeks here's a music update for ya on ClevverMusic. Many know Darren Criss as the lovable Blaine on FOX's Glee show, but he's moving into the spotlight now announcing his first tour! He took to Twitter yesterday to announce a 16-city tour in the US and Canada starting May 29th in San Francisco. Darren tweeted, "I'm proud to say, I'm going on tour this Summer!!! Full band. New Music. Old Music. Let's do this."

Darren will be previewing his forthcoming debut album (which is currently in the works) at his shows, letting fans hear it before anyone else. No word yet on the release date for his full length album, which follows 2009's EP "Human". But the the best part of his upcoming tour? Darren will also be doing some awesome cover songs Glee on his tour as well! Darren said in a statement regarding the announcement, "I couldn't think of a better way to spend the summer than being on the road and doing live shows. I wanted to do something bigger than what I've done before -- more cities and new music... It's gonna be a party for everyone!" Well now we know what to expect at the shows—lots of energy, upbeat music, and maybe some epic dancing? Singer/songwriter Theo Katzman will open for Darren on tour on select dates.
