Russians reject link between Chechen cause and Boston suspects

The drama of the Boston Marathon bombing draws strong reactions in Russia, where one of the two ethnic Chechen suspects was reportedly born.

Moscow residents said on Saturday the attacks had nothing to do with the Chechen cause or Russia.

Political analyst Maria Lipman:

(SOUNDBITE)(English) POLITICAL ANALYST, MARIA LIPMAN, SAYING:

"The Chechen cause barely has anything to do with the two brothers who never lived in Chechnya, and even though of the Chechen origin, they lived in different parts of Russia, and then in Turkey, then in the U.S."

This woman says bad things are often done by people regardless of their nationality.

A student thinks the suspects were driven by personal problems.
