German Bakery Case: Death for Himayat Baig

Indian Mujahideen operative Mirza Himayat Inayat Baig, the lone arrested accused in the German Bakery blast that killed 17 people and injured 64 three years ago has been awarded death penalty on Thursday (April 18) by a Pune Sessions Court. Additional Sessions Judge N P Dhote hands down death sentence to Baig for murder, criminal conspiracy among other charges. Five other accused - Fayyaz Kagzi, Yasin Bhatkal, Iqbal Bhatkal, Riyaz Bhatkal and Mohsin Choudhary - were charge-sheeted by the Anti Terrorism Squad for their alleged role in the blast. They are still absconding.
