Boston University mourns the loss of its graduate student Lu Lingzi in Monday's Boston Marathon bombings.

Lu, a Chinese national, was watching the marathon when the blast went off and was among the three dead at the scene of the attack.

On the campus of Boston University, fellow students expressed their shock.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) JOY LIU, STUDENT, SAYING:

"She's a friend of a friend and we have been looking for her since the explosion, but then it turned out that, you know, she's no longer with us, and then it's kind of sad."

(SOUNDBITE) (English) LAMBERT RAHMING, STUDENT, SAYING:

"When I heard about that I could only think about what my mother is thinking about, me and my safety, and I'm just thinking for the safety of others. And my heart just goes out to the family and just...it's a very, very sad feeling."

No one has claimed responsibility for Monday's attack.

Another Chinese graduate student was gravely injured in the attack.
