Motown memorialized in new musical

The sounds of Motown have hit Broadway.

Record company founder Berry Gordy Jr., Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson hit the red carpet in New York to celebrate the opening of the highly anticipated musical.

Before heading in to the show Ross was filled with anticipation.

SOUNDBITE: Diana Ross, singer, saying (English):

"These are wonderful memories. I look forward to walking in there and feeling the music."

Motown: The Musical features hits ranging from "Do You Love Me" to "Dancing in the Street".

Ross and Gordy's relationship is shown beginning in Paris, to The Temptation's hit "My Girl".

After the show the duo talked about thrill of opening night.

SOUNDBITE: Berry Gordy, Motown founder, saying (English):

"The cast was on tonight. I mean it was on tonight because it was opening night and they gave a little more. They knew Diana was in the audience."
