In the United States at least 2 people have died and 23 are reported to be injured after 2 large explosions at the Boston marathon. The blasts happened at the finish line as runners came across the line to complete the event. In the last few minutes police have confirmed that there has also been a third blast at a library in the city. There are no more details of the incident. The Boston Marathon is one of the biggest annual athletic events in the US and attracts thousands of spectators. Witnesses said there was a loud explosion on the north side of Boylston Street,>just before the bridge that marks the finish line. Another loud explosion could be heard a few seconds later.
President Obama held a press conference after the attack.
He said it wasn't yet clear who was responsible yet but those behind the blasts would be held accountable.
