If you've been looking forward to the "Point Break" remake, I've got some news for you! According to Deadline, Ericson Core has been picked to direct the reboot of "Point Break." If his name sounds familiar, that's because Ericcson Core directed "Invicible" in 2006, but he is mainly known for his cinematography which we've seen in movies like "The Fast and The Furious," "Payback" and "Daredevil." For of you who don't remember or don't want to remember the 90's, here's a little recap: The original "Point Break" came out in 1991, and was an action thriller that starred Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze. It was also directed by Kathryn Bigelow, who was married to James Cameron, divorced James Cameron, and then went on to helm huge films like "The Hurt Locker" and "Zero Dark Thirty" The new version of the movie will be produced by Alcon Entertainment partners Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, and the script was penned by Kurt Wimmer who also wrote "Salt" and "Law Abiding Citizen." The script for the remake will be set in the world of international extreme sports, where an undercover FBI agent infiltrates a criminal ring. Shooting starts at the end of the year, so we should be seeing this remake hit theaters sometime soon. Are you guys excited for the reboot, or should "Point Break" stay in the 90's where it belongs?
