Take a look at the comments and it's soon clear that one character many of you think needs to be added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Black Panther and if you believe recent tweets from actor Morris Chestnut, he soon will be. Chestnut, who most recently appeared opposite Halle Berry in The Call and will take over the role of Hit-Girl guardian Sergeant Marcus Williams in this summer's Kick-Ass 2 recently caused the internet to explode when he tweeted, "It's time to get familiar with the Black Panther character!" This caused us to raise an eyebrow, but by itself really didn't amount to much. Perhaps he's just late to jump on the Black Panther bandwagon and is looking to expand his comic book knowledge, right? The post was eventually deleted, which caused many to think he may actually be in discussions to take on the role of the Wakanda chief and got in trouble with the folks at Marvel. The next day though, Chestnut responded to a fans tweet about being excited for the Black Panther movie by revealing quote, "Not final. Black Panther may be in Avengers 2 first." Okay, sounds like someone who has some knowledge about Marvel's plans, but again the tweet was later deleted and in its place Chestnut wrote, "Thanks to the fans for bringing Black Panther to my attention, NOT in talks about this project with Marvel." Another round of posts claimed that the tweets about Black Panther didn't actually come from Chestnut, but someone in his "camp". So do you think Chestnut is in fact in talks to play Black Panther for a possible appearance in 'The Avengers 2' and he's trying to backtrack or is this just wishful thinking and possibly him or someone in his camp trying to garner support for the role? We'd love to hear your thoughts so go ahead and leave a comment below or tweet us @ClevverMovies. From the ClevverMovies command center, I'm Erin Darling, thanks for watching!
