27 cows are stolen from an Iowa farm.

There doesn't seem to be anything that's beyond the reach of thieves.

A farmer in Iowa recently reported that 27 of his cows were missing.

According to police authority, Don Phillips, the animals were taken sometime between September 1st and December 1st. The owner of the cows had been in the hospital for some of that time period.

When he finally counted the animals, he realized the major discrepancy. Detectives discovered evidence showing that someone had entered the private fenced area, designed for the cattle.

The cows, had a value of $850 a piece, or over $22,000 for the missing group.

Last year, in a similar case, 49 cows were stolen from a Dartmouth farm. The missing cows were valued at approximately $50,000. One week after the theft, most of the animals were discovered at a cattle auction in Pennsylvania.

After receiving a tip, the farm owners were able to track 40 of their cows down. No immediate arrests were made and the other 9 cows could not initially be located.
