Disney's The Black Hole is one step closer to a reboot, as the project lands a new writer. Prometheus co-writer, Jon Spaihts has landed the job of retelling Disney's 1979 sci-fi film, with TRON Legacy director Joe Kosinski helming the project. At the time of its release, the original The Black Hole was Disney's most expensive movie ever, and followed a group of USS Palomino space explorers as they stumble upon a lost ship which is run by a scientist and an army of faceless robots, whose intentions are to never let the Palomino crew escape. There are several iconic characters that fans are hoping to see like the red-robot villain named Maximillian, as well as the good guy robot characters named VINCENT AND BOB. Mum is the word on any script details but director, Kosinski is excited about it. We spoke to him at Wondercon, and here's what he told us We've been waiting on more news since Disney put the remake into development back in 2009, but it seems like things are moving right along with the project. So, what are your thoughts on seeing The Black Hole back on the big screen. Do you think that Spaihts should reboot the old script, or bring a fresh new perspective to the story?
