Powerball winning employees share with new secretary.
Envious someone you know has won a big lottery?
Well, one lucky woman is receiving a cut of winnings after declining to play the lottery. A dozen employees at a realty company in Plantation all chipped in $20 each to pay for Powerball tickets.
The new administrative assistant at the organization named Jennifer had just started her job and hadn’t even received her first paycheck. She opted out of the office pool due to her shortage of funds.
Shortly thereafter, Jennifer arrived at work, witnessing her co-workers jumping, screaming and hugging, claiming they had won. The team had five winning numbers, meaning their prize was $1 million, giving each member about $80,000 a piece after taxes.
All of the workers are chipping in to give Jennifer a cut too, simply out of kindness.
Last year, a man named Richard Brown walked into a gas station and asked for a $5 scratch ticket, however the busy clerk, who was also the manager, handed him a different ticket. He decided to just take the other ticket.
The split-second, passive decision resulted in Brown being a $1 million lottery winner.
