When should these 5 foods be tossed out?
Ever wonder whether to keep or throw out food?
Here are 5 tips from men's health.
Number 5 – We know canned tomatoes can last for years, but what about once opened? Then you should try to use all at once.If that’s not possible, transfer them to an airtight container and consume the rest within several days.
Number 4 – The good news with eggs is that they can still be eaten several weeks following the sell-by date. Keep them away from the refrigerator door to avoid temperature fluctuations and store them in the coldest part.
Number 3 – Ground coffee unfortunately picks up moisture and odors easily, even if kept in the freezer. Purchase a 1 to 2 week supply and store in an airtight container in a cool and dark place. This can eliminate the amount of waste. Whole beans last only 1 to 3 weeks if stored in a cupboard.
Number 2 – Freezing bread can drastically prolong life, but instead of waiting months, eat within several weeks. Over time, bread can dry out, even in the freezer and the loaf can also take in scents from other foods.
Number 1 – Deli meat is great for a quick sandwich, but only buy the absolute minimum. Most sliced meats can only live in the fridge for about 2-3 days.
