Italian Marines to face trial in India

Italian Marines accused of shooting and killing two Indian fishermen have been sent back to India for trial after intense negotiations between India and Italy's governments. Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone had been part of a military security team protecting a tanker - they say they fired on the fishermen thinking they were pirates. The deaths prompted demonstrations in India's state of Kerala, and the families of the dead have been demanding compensation and for the Marines to be tried in India. When the Marines were allowed out of the country on bail, they did not return - prompting a diplomatic row between the two countries and causing India to ban the Italian ambassador from leaving India. Al Jazeera's Stefanie Dekker reports.
