Florida’s Lt. Gov., Jennifer Carroll, resigned Wednesday, just days after she was reportedly questioned by police about her former affiliation with a non-profit organization under investigation by the IRS and Secret Service. The non-profit, Allied Veterans of the World, runs internet cafes in Florida and is accused of money laundering, using non-profit money for personal gain and misrepresenting amounts of money donated to charities. Carroll reportedly owned a consulting firm that did work for the non-profit and she appeared in a commercial for the group in 2010.
