12th Annual Francophone Film Festival of Kalamazoo
  • 11 years ago
Interview with Professeur Vincent Desroches, founder and director of the Francophone Film Festival of Kalamazoo (FFFKazoo). Every year the FFFKazoo takes place on the campus of Western Michigan University. The festival presents award-winning films from French speaking countries around the globe. This year 13 films will be presented from countries like Morocco, Quebec-Canada, Rwanda, and Haiti, just to name a few. The films cover a wide variety of subjects in styles ranging anywhere from comedy to drama. While highly acclaimed globally, most are Midwest or US premieres.
Film directors, Yves Sioui-Durand (Quebec) and Kollo Daniel Sanou (Burkina Faso), will personally present their films during this competition and will field questions and comments from the audience. Besides enjoying the films, and dialoguing with the directors, festival attendees will help decide who will be the winner of the "Gold Kazoo" which accompanies a monetary award.
