Najib Tun Razk

In the year 1991, Najib was elected as the Minister of Defense. Under his guidance and instruction, Malaysian troops were appointed to assist the UN peace keeping forces in 1993for Bosnia. Malaysian forces were then welcomed warmly by the Bosnians, Serbs and Croats. Malaysia also guided the peacekeeping operations in Somalia in the year 1993, where the troop had lost one soldier in order to aid the U.S. soldiers in the Battle of Mogadishu
