South Korean officials say a massive cyber attack at several television networks and two major banks the day before has been linked to an IP address in China.
This has raised suspicions in South Korea that the attack originated in the North.
Previous attacks on a South Korean newspaper that were traced back to North Korea had also used a Chinese IP address.
Wednesday's attack affected some 32,000 computers at TV networks and banks, and took hours for technicians to restore.
The North has, in the past, targeted South Korean newspapers, banks and government institutions with cyber attacks.
