Monster movie fans, get ready, the Godzilla remake is well on its way as Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures have started production on the updated version of the Japanese classic. Principal photography kicked off this week in Vancouver for the Gareth Edwards directed flick which will hit theaters in just over a year. While final principal casting is still ongoing, the most recent addition is Inception's Ken Watanabe who has also joined the line-up which already includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, and Bryan Cranston. This is the second time we've seen a big-budget Hollywood version of Godzilla. In 1998, Roland Emmerich's Godzilla starring Matthew Broderick and Hank Azaria made 379-million at the box office, despite universally being panned by critics. This time around, the script is being kept pretty secret, although according to IMDB, we'll be seeing exactly what one would probably expect... "a giant radioactive monster called Godzilla awakens from eons of sleep and attacks a city." Godzilla hits theaters in 3D on May 16th, 2014. Are you ready for this remake and do you think Gareth Edwards can do it better than Emmerich's 1998 Godzilla attempt? You know what to do in comments below. I'm Erin Darling, thanks for watching Clevver Movies!
