STORY: Brazil's top fashion trendsetters began showcasing their upcoming summer collections on Monday (March 18) as Sao Paulo Fashion Week kicked off.

The biannual week-long event will feature 25 labels and some of the world's most beautiful top models.

The day's parades were opened by label Cori run by designer by Taciana Menezes, who missed out on the past two seasons of the event after going through a facelift.

Cori came back younger, lighter and more colourful as Menezes presented a collection inspired in the works of Brazilian artist Henrique Oliveira.

Label Animale by designer Martinha Ceribelli followed with a parade inspired in the Indonesian island of Bali.

With a wide palette of bright colours and asymmetrical outfits, Ceribelli drew loud applause from the audience.

Animale was founded in 1991 and has since won large crowds of female fans who adopted the label's sexy but chic nature.
