Elderly twin prostitutes in Amsterdam are retiring.
An elderly set of twins in Amsterdam shares a unique bond. The 70-year-old sisters are now retiring together after working for more than 50 years in the prostitution trade.
Louise and Martine Fokkens are thought to be Amsterdam’s longest serving streetwalkers. Between the two ladies, they claim to have had paid sexual encounters with over 355,000 men.
The twins began working as prostitutes while they were teenagers to escape from bad relationships. Louise and Martine are known for their matching outfits while trying to lure in males, but arthritis and their advanced age is becoming a factor in attracting customers.
According to the ladies, things went downhill after the occupation was legalized and taken over by the eastern European mafia. Last year, the duo was cast into the spotlight when they became subjects in a documentary called “Meet the Fokkens”.
Elderly prostitution isn't as uncommon as you would think. Earlier this year, police in Glastonbury arrested a 71-year-old woman after she allegedly listed her escort services on Backpage.com.
She went by the alias of 'Lola'. Authorities from the East Central Narcotics Task Force apprehended the lady in her hotel room after she arranged a deal for sex acts in exchange for money.
