    The concept was good but the casting was not. All were sent home except Mr. Ed who remained in his strall. The casting of the "voice: of Mr. Ed was "Rocky Lane, a 1940's singing cwboy from Republic studios who took up residence at the creator's home on the sofa". said Alan Young in an interview.
