Ohio Gas Stations Mistakenly Filled with Diesel Fuel in Place of 87 Octane

Ohio gas stations were mistakenly filled with diesel fuel instead of 87 octane.
Drivers in Ohio got an unwanted surprise after fueling up at a gas station.
Several Gas stations in and around Fairlawn were mistakenly filled with diesel fuel instead of 87 octane. One female resident who was a victim of the mix-up sates “All of a sudden all of my lights started flashing. And then my engine quit.”
When she brought her car in to be fixed, she was alerted that she had diesel fuel in her tank. The Sunoco station she purchased from blamed the fuel supplier for the mistake.
Two local GetGo stations were also affected. At this time, no one is currently sure how many drivers fueled up with diesel before attention was brought to the mishap, but the contaminated gas is known to cause sudden engine failure which can result in thousands of dollars in damage.
Late last year, a gas station in Calgary was filled with diesel fuel mistakenly by a supplier. It was 26 hours before the station was alerted of the problem.
Approximately 500 vehicles had gotten fuel during that time frame. The gas station offered to cover the damage costs.
