Star Wars rumors can come from anywhere really, but when they're from George Lucas himself, I feel like we can dare to call them confirmations. We have kept you up to speed on all of the casting news regarding Episode VII, including the most recent rumors that original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher are expected to reprise their roles in the new film. This week, George Lucas sat down with Bloomberg Business Week and spoke about the Disney/Star Wars acquisition, and in the process dished that the original cast members had been in talks to come back long before Disney took on the franchise back in October saying quote, "We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, 'Look, this is what's going on.' Maybe I'm not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them. I won't say whether the negotiations were successful or not." Until now, no one from the Star Wars camp has spoken about the casting. Disney certainly isn't talking yet, and even this week Carrie Fisher's reps were denying her involvement...but maybe this is what you would call a Hollywood poker face?
So, if all of these rumors are true, what are you all expecting from the film? Are you excited to bring back the original team? Do you think this is a smart move for the franchise?
