Three new species of giant cockroaches are found.

There are over 45 hundred species of cockroaches that are known to exist on our planet.

Now three new species of giant cockroaches that have been found in China can be added to the list.

The Pseudophoraspism genus of cockroach has never been found north of Vietnam before, but now scientists from Southwest University in China have documented the existence of three entirely new species in the Hainan, Yunnan and Guangxi provinces.

Although they are technically part of the family of giant cockroaches, the newly discovered species only grow to be about an inch long as adults, compared to the Blaberus giganteus species of giant cockroach, which can grow to be up to 4 inches long.

A lot of people are grossed out by cockroaches, but they are among the most resilient creatures on the planet.

They are able to live for a week without their heads, and can survive underwater for 40 minutes.

They can live for a month without any food, and they are able to survive in temperatures down to 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
