Dubai is now home to the world's tallest hotel.
No other city has pushed the architectural boundaries as Dubai.
The JW Marriott's Marquis Dubai which recently opened in the city has received the title of the world's tallest hotel from Guinness World Records.
Towering 72-stories above the ground, it measures 355 meters high. The massive and gorgeous structure is only 26 meters short of the Empire State Building in New York City.
The new hotel resides next to the Rose Tower which is 333 meters high. The building occupies two towers, but thus far only one is open to the public.
The interior is the definition of luxury. The hotel contains a swimming pool on the seventh floor and each tower has more than 800 rooms, five bars, nine restaurants and a spa.
Besides the gleaming new hotel, Dubai also has the World's Tallest Building, known as the Burj Khalifa.
The impressive 160-story waterfront building serves several purposes; hotel, retail office and residential space. The structure is complimented by a park and a fitness center. The stunning building is a whooping 828 meters high.
