Chad's President Idriss Deby Itno reiterated that his country's forces had killed two top Islamist militants in Mali, saying it had refrained from showing the bodies out of respect for Muslim customs. Al Jazeera has gained exclusive access to the Chadian army's military campaign against the al-Qaeda affiliated fighters inside Northern Mali. They say they are winning the war against the group and have captured its main base. The militants, however, insist that their leader Mokhtar Belmokhtar was alive and still fighting. Al Jazeera's May Welsh has an exclusive report from Ndjamena in Chad.
