    Robot Arm Ride

This is so dangerous. All it takes is for the concrete to yield a little right when the robot is full extension with the maximum leverage on its base. At that moment, the guy's face is just above the ground. If the robot tilted, his face would get smeared all over the floor.
The robot's base only has four bolts into the concrete. Concrete slabs in buildings like this can actually sometimes be less than 4" thick in the middle areas. On smaller robots than this one, we always use a base plate that is 4 feet square, which spreads the load quite a bit. It also allows for 14 bolts spaced a foot apart around its edge. So, forces on the concrete are minimized.
