Two young Tibetan monks have died in separate fiery protests in China's Tibetan regions.

The latest case happened on Monday, outside a temple in Luqu County in Gansu Province. It follows a self-immolation protest on Sunday at a monastery in Qinghai Province.

According to the International Campaign for Tibet (ICT), both victims were in their twenties. It says the deaths of Tsesung Kyab and Phagmo Dundrup bring the total number of Tibetan self-immolation protest to 106 since 2009.

The ICT reports that large groups of Tibetans witnessed the latest protests. They happened near monasteries where Tibetans had gathered for prayers to mark the end of the Tibetan New Year.

Tibetan advocates have urged the Chinese regime to address to escalating crisis. Chinese authorities have intensified the crackdown in Tibet, arresting individuals alleged to have helped others to self-immolate.
