Dozens killed in days of violence across Iraq

A wave of violence in Iraq leaves dozens dead.

On Thursday in Baghdad two bombs -- one near a crowded restaurant and the other near a football field -- killed at least 22 people.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) WOUNDED MAN ALI JASSIM, SAYING:

"There was a final soccer match between two local teams when this coward came in and hugged the goalkeeper and then blew himself up. I was thrown by the force of the blast to the other side of the field. My mother and brother rushed to see me and later I was taken to the hospital."

No one is claiming immediate responsibility for the attacks -- that wounded dozens of people

In southern Iraq at least five people are killed in more blasts Friday.

Violence in Iraq is increasing as Sunni opposition swells against the Shite-led government.

On Friday Iraq's Sunni finance minister resigned saying the government has failed to meet the needs of Sunni citizens.
