The 38-18 Memphis Grizzlies will travel to play the 41-14 Miami Heat in an NBA pro basketball game on Friday night. Tip off time from Miami is scheduled for 8PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by ESPN.

The NBA odds from this game have the home team Miami Heat favored by -8 points with an over under line of 187 points. There has been no line movement since the odds came out a few hours ago.

The teams met back on November 11th with the Grizzlies earning the 104-86 home win against the Heat as a +1 ½ point underdog. The game ended under 194 ½ points.

Memphis has a road record of 15-10 on the current season. They win their eighth straight game after a 90-84 home win against the Dallas Mavericks as a -7 ½ point betting favorite. The Grizzlies overcame a 38-19 first quarter deficit by limiting the Mavs to just 29 second half points. Memphis survived a 37.7% shooting night and hit on 5 of 14 from three. They held Dallas to 43.4% shooting. The Grizzlies win on the strength of pulling down 12 more rebounds and forcing 21 Mavericks turnovers. Zach Randolph had 22 points and 10 rebounds on 7 of 16 shooting. Marc Gasol contributed with 21 points. This is the difference with Memphis now that the inefficient high volume shooter like Rudy Gay is gone. Give more shots for guys like Randolph and Gasol who are close to 50% shooting than a high volume shooter like Gay who hovers around 40%. That is a winning formula to get rid of inefficiency from a team.

The Heat is 25-3 at home. Miami has never looked better this season than at the present as the club sports a 12 game win streak. They come off the 141-129 home double overtime win against the Sacramento Kings as a -15 point betting favorite. The game ended over 209 points. Miami shot 55.4% for the game and made 10 of 23 from three. They needed good shooting as they allowed 51.6% from the field to the Kings. LeBron James had 40 points and 16 rebounds on 14 of 23 shooting. Miami is the number one shooting team in basketball. At home they are dominating as the team averages 108.6 points a game with 51.3% shooting.
